Case Study: Carnegie Institution for Science
A dedication to discovery.
Since its founding more than 100 years ago, the scientific research organization’s brand deteriorated as the Carnegie Institution evolved into six scientific research departments located across the United States. The visual and mission connection to the parent organization was difficult to establish. Due to a lack of branding, the Carnegie Institution was having difficulty getting credit for the work its research departments were doing.
Rock Creek leveraged extensive stakeholder intake to strengthen the organization’s web presence, and then worked with the Carnegie Institution on a branding platform, including a renaming, an identity guide, logo, and taglines. Rock Creek’s solution provides the Carnegie Institution with a combination of brand discipline and departmental freedom. The solution is flexible in content, but not in brand.
