Web Designer/Developer
Rock Creek Strategic Marketing, a leading branding, strategy, and communications firm in Chevy Chase, MD, is seeking a full-time on-site web designer/front-end developer. This position requires an individual with both solid design skills and proficiency in front-end development (XHMTL, CSS, JavaScript). The ideal candidate will also have in-depth knowledge of Section 508 compliance, mobile and widget development, and a passion to engage with new web trends and technologies.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Photoshop, Flash, and Dreamweaver
- Solid track record of delivering successful interactive projects
- Up-to-date knowledge of best practices in web standards, design, and technologies
- Able to self-manage, learn quickly, juggle multiple projects, and deliver in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Great attitude, strong work ethic, excellent communication and problem solving abilities
Education and Experience
- Three+ years professional experience in planning, designing, and developing interactive websites
- Portfolio showcasing stellar web design work, both aesthetically and in terms of user experience
- Experience working within content management systems
- Experience with major/complex system builds or with redesigning from inception through completion
Project/Account Manager
The Project Manager (PM) oversees client relationships and project execution according to tight deadlines and within scope and budget. Rock Creek PMs represent the firm’s brand by being the client’s key point of contact and advocate throughout the project lifecycle. Rock Creek PMs work on high-profile and highly visible projects, working collaboratively with clients as well as creative and technical team members to ensure the highest quality services are provided. PMs serve as motivational team members to ensure internal and external needs are met and project success is achieved.
Responsibilities include full project/account management support ranging from business development activities to daily contract administration and client advocacy. PMs coordinate resources and the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. PMs also help manage to the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its lifecycle. Reports to Director of Client Services.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain positive client relationships. Understand client needs, and advocate on behalf of clients to ensure project success.
- Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project.
- In collaboration with senior management and stakeholders, define project scope, objectives, and deliverables that support client goals.
- Develop and deliver full-scale project plans, progress reports, and requirements documentation to clients and internal project team.
- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
- Liaise with clients and project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Contribute in a multi-disciplinary team environment to create comprehensive, strategic solutions for clients, based on their business goals.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members, stakeholders, and clients in a timely and clear fashion.
- Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
- Manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
- React to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
- Conduct project closeout summaries and create recommendations reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Analyze profitability, revenue, bill rates, and utilization across multiple projects.
- Coordinate with Accounting Manager for invoicing and billing.
- Other duties as requested and required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Knowledge and background in marketing, new media, and/or interactive marketing.
- 2-4 years direct work experience in a project or account management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
- PMP certification desirable; ability to obtain PMP certification within 6 months of hire required.
- Familiarity with project management fundamentals, such as PMBOK.
- Familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project.
- Advanced understanding of MS Office Suite, specifically MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines in a high-pressure environment is essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Able to build a collaborative working environment with cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
